Content types

You are now viewing a list of all pages you can use to add content to the site.

    • Click ‘edit’ to change the name, description, or other information for a content type.

    • Click ‘manage fields’ to add additional fields to any content type (for example date and time fields for events).

  • To add a new content type (an FAQ page, for example),

    • Select the tab ‘Add content type’ and follow the directions given.

    • Once you have created a content type you will be asked whether you would like to add fields to that content type’s page.

  • To ensure that the new content type shows up on ‘Create Content’ pages Permissions and under the heading ‘node module’ find the new content type and make sure that permission is give to admin and owner (if applicable).



Add New Content Type

  • Content types -> Add Content

  • Give the new content type a name, a path name, and a description if desired.

  • If you would later like to generate lists of this type of content, then click the box next to ‘Make a listing page for this content type.’

  • If the new content type has ‘title’ and ‘body’ fields fill in the information under ‘Submission form settings.’

  • Review the ‘Workflow Settings’ and make the necessary changes.

  • Decide whether the new content type should have a ‘Comments’ section for users to leave feedback.

  • Save Content Type’ to close.


Manage Fields

  • Find the new content type under the list of content and click the ‘Manage fields’ link under the ‘Operations’ heading.

  • Add new fields for your content type by giving each field a label, field name, type of data, and form element to edit the data.

  • You may need to provide further information, such as select list values.
